Diabetes UK, the British Heart Foundation and Tesco have come together to create the National Charity Partnership, to inspire people to take small, positive steps to better health. BCSDN is the primary provider for Belfast and the programme has been rolled out in community, sports clubs, pre-school and primary school settings. BCSDN have worked closely with NCP to ensure that the Make, Move & Munch Clubs have maximum benefit in Belfast.
The eight week programme has three distinct elements- physical activity for parents and children, CPR/nutrition and well being workshops and practical cooking demonstrations. To date BCSDN have delivered 22 MMM Clubs across Belfast- working with 221 families, delivering 103 physical activity sessions, making 1920 healthy meals and trained over 20 adults in CPR!
Since 2016 the Make, Move & Munch Clubs in Belfast has been funded by the National Charity Partnership, a partnership between Diabetes UKBritish Heart Foundation Northern Ireland Tesco. The National Charity Partnership has came to an end as of Thursday 4th January 2018 and the Make, Move & Munch Clubs will therefore no longer be funded by or affiliated with the partnership.
